What qualifies for an agricultural exemption?
generally, items used exclusively in farming/ranching or timber production qualify
feed such as oats, hay, chicken scratch, wild bird seed, deer corn for livestock and other wild game feed (not pet food) qualify
items used for personal use including safety clothing (gloves, glasses, etc.) and items used in a shelter or general barn do not qualify
materials used for the construction of roads or buildings used for shelter, housing, storage or work space do not qualify
furniture, home furnishings or housewares do not qualify
If I am an out-of-state reseller, how do I claim a sales tax exemption?
A Texas Sales and Use Tax Resale Certificate will need to be completed with the out-of-state permit number added in the Out-Of-State Permit Number field
